Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) is for women and men experiencing symptoms that may be related to hormone imbalance. Most frequently, it is used to meet the needs of peri-menopausal and menopausal women with plant-derived, bio-identical hormones. These hormones are appealing to patients because they mend a hormonal imbalance with hormones, which are identical to those produced in the human body.
A compounding pharmacist can tailor a hormone regimen, which mimics what a patient’s body has been doing for the past 50 years or so. Because all individuals are not the same, neither are our treatments. Instead, we personalize that hormone regimen to fit each patient with the appropriate dosage strength and form.
The compounding pharmacist, working with the patient and physician, can start and maintain bio-identical hormone replacement to determine the most beneficial dosage route and strength. Hormones can be placed in a variety of dosage forms, including capsules, topical creams, suppositories and sublingual troches or lozenges.
Our program is designed to offer natural alternatives to synthetic hormones. We offer saliva testing for hormone levels and a consultation with our BHRT pharmacist to assess symptoms and provide education about natural hormone therapy. All medications are from completely natural sources and are compounded at Reeves-Sain Drug Store specifically for the patient’s needs.

Why Natural Bio-Identical Hormones?
Natural hormones match your own hormones exactly (hence, the term “bio-identical”).
Natural hormones leave the body more quickly than synthetics, thereby not posing the same health risk.
Natural hormones don’t have the side effects of standard HRT drugs if used at the proper dosage.
