American Pharmacists Month at Reeves-Sain Drug

The purpose of American Pharmacists Month is to raise awareness of the role of the community pharmacy and celebrate how valuable pharmacists are in our community.
Reeves-Sain uses this time as an opportunity to offer promotions and events to invite the public to visit the stores for various activities and focused educational opportunities.
The week of October 2nd will showcase the various parts of Reeves-Sain that make us so unique.
- Monday will be Pharmacy Awareness Day. The role of the clinical pharmacy is to offer services and programs to the general public, such as Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy, Blood Pressure Management, Cholesterol Screening, Travel Immunizations, and Lifestyle Modification. Promotion of free delivery, compounding and counseling services.
- Tuesday will offer a display of the products and services available at Reeves-Sain Medical, including DME, Respiratory, Diabetes and Mastectomy.
Wednesday offers a glimpse into Extended Care and the types of facilities with whom we work. MediPACK will be a primary focus. - Thursday will focus upon Infusion and how this type of pharmacy enables quality of life care for serious conditions.
- Friday will be a day of promotion for RSDS secondary areas, such as the Soda Shoppe, the Gift Shoppe and the Post Office. Food and product samples will be provided.
Thursday, October 12th- Fall Into Pharmacy Fun Day
Pharmacy care includes the youngest of customers! All 1200+ children in the
Reeves-Sain Kids’ Club will be invited to stop by for examples of the pharmacy profession. Mortars and pestles and labcoats, oh my! The children can pretend to be a pharmacist, grinding candy and pouring pretty liquids. Pediatric compounding will be emphasized. A Hello Kitty Coloring Contest will be ongoing. Children will leave with Pharmacy coloring books and information on poison control.
Tuesday, October 17th- Men’s Health Day, For the Weekend Athlete in You!
Health screenings will be available to include blood pressure and cholesterol levels. Information from the American Heart Association will include fitness ideas and
MTSU Sports Medicine will provide information on daily stretching techniques.
Reeves-Sain Medical will provide product samples and information for braces and supports, as well as products for erectile dysfunction therapy.
Thursday, October 19th- Women’s Wellness Day
Reeves-Sain wants to be the destination for women’s health information, advice and wellness products and services. Topics for the day include heart health, with information provided by the Go Red for Women campaign from the America Heart Association, bone health, with bone density screenings provided by The Imaging Center, and Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy. Products and services from Reeves-Sain Medical will be promoted with an emphasis on Mastectomy Care. An added bonus includes mini-massages from Angel’s Crossing.
Tuesday, October 24th- National Pharmacy Technician Day
Reeves-Sain will recognize the invaluable contributions technicians make in all practice settings throughout the year.
Thursday, October 26th- Pet Health Day
Our newest addition to pharmacy fun during American Pharmacy Month includes our favorite pet customers! Beginning the day at 6:30 am, local veterinarians will be invited to our Veterinary Compounding Care Breakfast at the Soda Shoppe. Pharmacists Laurie Wamack and Ashley Dick will present how our compounding pharmacy can accentuate their practices. Photos of our pets will be on display, and information will be provided on our services. As an added bonus, from 2pm -6pm, we will make photos of pets in their Halloween costumes just outside in our parking lot!
