1. How will my family and I be trained for this type of therapy?

The success of your home therapy depends on everyone involved, especially you and your family. Before going home from the hospital or before beginning the therapy at home or in the nursing facility, a member of the Reeves-Sain Pharmacy will prepare you for your therapy. In many cases, Reeves-Sain Infusion will be providing your care in conjunction with a Home Health Agency. In these cases, a representative from the Home Health Agency will visit you prior to beginning your therapy. In some cases, you will be administering your own therapy or a caregiver may be trained to do so. In this case, you will be fully trained until you thoroughly understand all the required instructions. In other cases, the patient, family, and nursing staff are involved in the administration of the therapy. Reeves-Sain will work with you and your physician to develop a plan of care that is specific for your individual needs.

2. How, and when, will I receive supplies and what if an unexpected need arises?

Prior to going home, your physician will be consulted so that a detailed analysis of your individual needs can be made. Prescribed medication or solutions and supplies will be delivered to your home by a member of Reeves-Sain Infusion or a courier. We generally try to accomplish this on the day of discharge from the hospital. Additional deliveries will be scheduled to replace supplies before they become depleted. Reeves-Sain is familiar with the supplies that will be needed and know when to send them; however in the event you experience a shortage before your next scheduled delivery, you should notify Reeves-Sain as quickly as possible so that a delivery can be made.

5. How much will it cost?

Once we have a complete order from your physician, we will be able to quote an expected charge for our products and services. There are, however, many variables (variations in supply needs, etc.) which may effect the cost of your therapy. We will be glad to discuss the cost of your therapy with you, upon your request.

6. Will my insurance cover this therapy?

Although the responsibility for payment of bills rests with the patient, RS can assume the responsibility of determining insurance eligibility, gathering medical documents, submitting claims and accepting assignment of benefits. Many insurance companies require all home care to be reviewed by their case management or utilization review departments. In such cases, we will work with your insurance provider to supply necessary information.

7. Will I receive a bill?

Prior to therapy initiation, we do our best to clarify with your insurance company what is and is not covered. Occasionally, this is not possible without submission of an invoice. For services not covered, personal payment will be required. RS bills on a daily, weekly, or monthly cycle depending on the situation at hand. Upon request, you will receive a copy of your invoice simultaneously with the submission of your bill to your insurance company. All personal pay invoices are due and payable within 10 days of receipt. Should an alternative arrangement be required, we will be happy to work with you to establish a more appropriate billing and payment schedule.

8. Will I be able to resume normal activity?

The level of activity to which you return will depend upon a number of variables. Many long-term patients pursue full, productive and active lives. Your physician will be able to advise you on those activities you are capable le of doing without compromising your recovery.
